GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On September 27, 2016 at approximately 10:50 AM, an unidentified male suspect mysteriously deposited a check into another person’s account at an Eastman Credit Union branch, located at 216 West Ravine Road in Kingsport. Two minutes later, the same individual withdrew $500 in cash from the same account, using the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) outside of the same branch.
That same day, the same suspect withdrew an additional $200 in cash from the same account, using the ATM outside of a different ECU branch, located at 3104 Memorial Boulevard in Kingsport. Naturally, the original $700 check that was deposited to cover these two fraudulent withdrawals was returned due to the account being closed. The suspect was captured on surveillance video during at least one of the transactions, with his photograph taken from that footage being included with this release. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
