SUBJECT: | Detectives Attempting to Identify Felony Shoplifter Who Threatened to Kill Loss Prevention Officer | ||

GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On August 6, 2018 at approximately 6:00 PM, a white male adult suspect shoplifted an assortment of clothing, valued at over $1,400, from Belk, inside the Fort Henry Mall, located at 2101 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. When a loss prevention officer attempted to detain him in the parking lot, the suspect fell and dropped all of the stolen clothing.
The suspect then ran toward what is believed to be a white Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicle and instructed the white female driver to kill the loss prevention officer. The suspect then got into the SUV and fled the scene. All of the stolen clothing was recovered. K.P.D. Detectives are attempting to determine the suspect’s identity. Photos taken from store surveillance video have been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes him or who may know the owner/operator of the described white Jeep Liberty is asked to contact the K.P.D.
