Kingsport Senior Center hosting Understanding Medicare event
Understanding Medicare is important for both your health and financial security, especially as you age or possibly deal with a disability. Navigating the ins and outs of this federal program can be challenging, even for the most insurance savvy of us.
To help you better understand Medicare, the Kingsport Senior Center is hosting a special one-day workshop on October 21. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Card Room at the Kingsport Senior Center (1200 E. Center Street).
Counselors from the First Tennessee Area on Aging & Disability will be on hand to answer any questions about Medicare. The event is free and open to any Kingsport Senior Center member. To make an appointment for a one-on-one session, please call 423-392-8400.
“Medicare is complex, with multiple parts and choices that can lead to costly mistakes if not carefully navigated,” said Senior Center Director Shirley Buchanan. “So, we’re encouraging our members to sign up for a session and ask any questions they may have in order to avoid confusion or penalties later on.”
