Kingsport Public Library rekindles LEGO building events
The Kingsport Public Library is encouraging children to come out and “play well” next week by attending an upcoming LEGO Club event.
LEGO Club events are held monthly in the first-floor auditorium at the library and are open for children grades K-5. The next event is scheduled for February 13 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Space is limited and registration is required by visiting www.kingsportlibrary.org.
During each 90-minute session, a large cart full of LEGO bricks is brought out and children are given a building challenge, which varies month by month. You might have to build the strongest bridge or create a special Valentine display.
With LEGOs, the possibilities are endless! Once the challenge is complete, children are then allowed to free build for the remainder of the session.
“We recently brought the LEGO Club event back following the pandemic, so we’re excited to see the kids coming in and showing off their building skills,” said Community Engagement Senior Librarian Casey Applebaum.
Note – please don’t bring any LEGOs from home, as they could get mixed up with the library’s supply of LEGO bricks.
