Levi Carter has been located and taken into custody. The Kingsport Police Department appreciates all the assistance from our surrounding agencies at both the state and local levels. Thank you to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Mt. Carmel Police Department, and the Church Hill Police Department.
AS PREVIOUSLY RELEASED:
The Kingsport Police Department is actively searching for thirty-seven-year-old (37) Levi Carter, a suspect in an ongoing homicide investigation that began late last night. A warrant has been obtained charging Levi with 2nd Degree Murder. He is a white male, approximately 5’11” tall and 220lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, and driving a red Ford F-150 pickup truck with Tennessee registration 6388 LPC.
Levi is considered armed and dangerous; if observed, please call 9-1-1 immediately. Do not attempt to stop, engage, or otherwise approach this individual.
