Kingsport Parks & Recreation hosting first-ever Foam Party
Kingsport’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its first-ever Foam Party at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex Field on August 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event is free and open to all ages. Parks & Rec officials recommend you bring a towel and wear a swim suit or clothes you don’t mind getting wet. The Kingsport Splash Pad will also be open during the Foam Party.
A Foam Party is just like it sounds – a foam machine will fill the V.O. Dobbins field with a thick mountain of clean, refreshing foam while energetic, family-friendly music plays in the background by a DJ.
Children will be able to run through the foam, build forts or snowmen and make oversized hairdos and beards with the foam. Adults can join in the fun, dance along to the music or take selfies with their foam-covered children or grandchildren.
“We had a foam machine at one of our summer camps this year and the kids just loved it,” said Program Administrator Renee Ensor. “So we thought, why not have a larger event and invite the entire community to come out and enjoy.”
