Kingsport Parks and Recreation launches NFL FLAG football League
Kingsport Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the launch of an NFL FLAG football league this summer. NFL FLAG is the official flag football program of the National Football League, which consists of 750,000 youth athletes in more than 1,800 leagues in all 50 states.
Registration opens May 12, and the league is open to youth ages 5 to 12. Leagues consist of Bantam (ages 5-6), Pee Wee (ages 7-8), Rookie (ages 9-10), Youth Boys (ages 11 to 12) and Youth Girls (ages 11 to 12). Registration cost is $60 per child (which includes the jersey and flags). The season begins July 28.
“Flag football is the perfect introduction to football fundamentals and a great opportunity for tackle athletes to refine their technique in the offseason,” said Program Administrator Nate Williams. “The league is designed to give boys and girls of all abilities a chance to learn, play—and have a blast doing it.”
NFL FLAG is the largest flag football league in the United States and the only league where players can wear official NFL gear. NFL FLAG leagues are no contact leagues so boys and girls of all ages and skill levels can learn to play and have lots of fun doing so.
