Kingsport Parks and Recreation hosts Sourdough 102 course
Kingsport Parks and Recreation is bringing back its popular sourdough baking course later this month.
Sourdough 102 is an immersive, hands-on course designed for participants to build a strong foundation in artisanal bread baking. The course explores the principles of cultivating and maintaining a starter culture, as well as the techniques behind proper dough mixing, fermentation and development.
In addition, Sourdough 102 equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to produce quality sourdough in your own kitchen.
The course will be held on April 26 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street). Cost is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents. No equipment is necessary, and all supplies will be provided. Open for participants ages 16 and older.
