Kingsport offering Pump Track & Trail program
Kingsport Parks and Recreation is offering a new bicycle program this fall that combines the thrill of pump track riding with the beauty of the great outdoors.
The TREADZ Pump Track & Trail program will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 6, 20, 27 and November 3 at the Brickyard Pump Track and Bays Mountain Park. The program is open to bicyclists ages 8 to 14 and the cost is $25 per person.
Note – participants will need to bring their own bike and helmet.
The TREADZ: Pump Track & Trail program is a skills-based cycling program that combines pump track riding with beginner-friendly trail experiences. Participants will develop bike handling, balance, cornering, and confidence while enjoying guided rides in a fun and supportive setting.
“The TREADZ program encourages physical activity, skill development and just a general love for biking,” said Program Administrator Jason Wilburn. “We’re hoping the program introduces new bicyclists to our amazing pump track and the trails up at Bays Mountain Park. It should be fun for everyone.”
