Kingsport offering Beginner Pickleball Classes
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports to sweep the nation with plenty of competitors, teams and leagues playing throughout the Tri-Cities. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play this fast-paced game, the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department can serve you up.
The department plans to offer a beginner’s course in pickleball later this month at the V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street). Classes will take place in Gymnasium #2 from 8:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays from February 19 through March 8.
The course is for participants ages 10 and up and the cost is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents.
Students will enjoy an instructor-led course covering aspects of basic pickleball, including the rules of the game, serving, the return serve and dinking. All equipment will be provided.
