Kingsport offering Basketball Skills and Drills Courses
The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Basketball Skills and Drills program beginning next week for children interested in learning the basics of this exciting sport.
The program offers two types of courses – Beginner and Intermediate. The Beginner courses will take place August 12 through September 2; the Intermediate courses will take place September 9 through September 30.
All courses will take place on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street). Open to boys and girls ages 7 through 13.
The Skills & Drills program focuses on key aspects of basketball, such as dribbling, shooting and passing. Participants will also perform drills to improve speed, footwork and agility.
In addition, the program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, making it ideal for both beginners looking to learn the basics and more advanced players seeking to refine their abilities.
