This free event will take place at Borden Park community building (901 Lamont Street) and include a variety of outdoor activities including a playground obstacle course, basketball, disc golf, tennis and a bike ride throughout the park.
The schedule of events is as follows:

- 11:30 – 11:50: Tennis

“This is a new event for us. We’re diving into unchartered waters, so we’re curious to see how it turns out,” said Kingsport Parks and Recreation Administrator Travis Sensabaugh. “We’re offering a variety of events that day and we’re hoping there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
Kingsport’s event is being held in coordination with the National Recreation and Park Association – a non-profit organization dedicated to building strong, vibrant and healthy communities through the power of parks and recreation. The NRPA created Family Health & Fitness Day, celebrated on the second Saturday in June each year, to promote the importance of parks and recreation.
If you can’t make it to Borden Park at that time, the city encourages you to visit any of our local parks that day to maybe have a picnic or just to enjoy the nice weather. If you do please post a selfie of you and your family on social media and tag Kingsport Parks and Recreation and #NRPAFamilyFitDay.
