Kingsport Carousel to be closed for maintenance
The popular downtown attraction will reopen in early February
Beginning January 1, the Kingsport Carousel will be closed to the public for routine maintenance. The work is expected to take approximately one month to complete, and the popular downtown attraction will reopen in early February.
Though the carousel and gift shop will be closed, the adjacent playground will be open during normal parks hours.
The Kingsport Carousel (320 Clinchfield Street) is one of the most magical destinations in town, offering residents and guests a traditional carousel ride with more than 30 hand-carved animals, including dogs and cats, a dragon, tiger, and zebra and of course a variety of horses.
Since opening in July 2015, the Kingsport Carousel has hosted more than 500,000 riders from all 50 states and beyond. The carousel is open to the public year-round and all rides are $1.
