Kingsport Aquatic Center offering Junior Lifeguard Camp
The Kingsport Aquatic Center is offering a special Junior Lifeguard Camp this summer for children and teens interested in learning rescue skills and a basic knowledge of what it takes to become a lifeguard.
The American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard Camp will be offered in five sessions this summer and is open for youth ages 11 to 15. Registration is now open and the cost is $200 for KAC/YMCA members and $225 for non-members.
Sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the following dates:
- Session 1: June 1 through June 5
- Session 2: June 15 through June 19
- Session 3: June 29 through July 3
- Session 4: July 13 through July 17
- Session 5: July 27 through July 31
Junior Lifeguard Camp is designed to build basic knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards or individuals interested in rescue skills. Participants will learn techniques in communication, teamwork and decision making while building strength and stamina.
Note – the Junior Lifeguard Camp does not certify participants in first aid, CPR or AED or as a lifeguard.
