Grace Point Fellowship Church makes donation to KATS
The Kingsport Area Transit Service is pleased to announce it has received a $1,000 donation from Grace Point Fellowship Church.
The donation will allow KATS to offer free transportation for residents during the church’s “Love Your City Week” celebration (February 16-20). The funds will cover approximately four days of free bus trips and two days of free Dial-A-Ride trips.
“The reason why we’re donating the funds for KATS is because we believe that mobilizing people and getting them to their jobs and to the store and wherever they need to go is a big part in helping them out and being a blessing to them,” said Paul Warrick, lead pastor at Grace Point Fellowship Church. “So, we appreciate the opportunity for us to give towards that, and we look forward to partnering with you all.”
KATS Transit Director Chris Campbell thanked the church for its donation, noting the contribution will go a long way in promoting the advantages of using public transportation.
“This generous donation will pay the fares of roughly 1,200 fixed route trips and 200 Dial-A-Ride trips during the church’s week of celebration,” said Campbell. “This gift will help a lot of people financially while also demonstrating that people in the community care for others.”
