Behind the Book Festival returns to Kingsport Public Library

The Kingsport Public Library is pleased to announce the return of the Behind the Book festival – a literary celebration of more than 70 local authors and their amazing works.

Book lovers of all ages are encouraged to attend the event on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kingsport Public Library’s Fort Henry Mall location. This free, family-friendly event will bring together more than 70 local authors from across the region for a day dedicated to books, storytelling and community.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet authors, purchase books and have their books signed.

“This festival celebrates the incredible talent of our local authors while encouraging a love of reading throughout our community,” said Library Manager Stephanie Griffin. “We hope everyone will join us for a day of discovering new books, meeting the people behind them and enjoying activities for the whole family.”

In addition to the author marketplace, the festival will feature a variety of author discussion panels, where writers will share their experiences, creative processes and publishing journeys. Families with children can also enjoy storytimes held throughout the day, making the festival a fun and engaging experience for readers of all ages.
