Allandale Mansion hosting Fairy Door Painting session
Allandale Mansion is hosting for the first time ever a unique, crafting opportunity for folks who enjoy creating a whimsical and magical piece of art.
A Fairy Door Painting session will take place at the Brooks’ Pavilion at Allandale Mansion on August 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost of the session is $30 per person.
During the three-hour session, participants will paint a fairy door, enjoy a themed scavenger hunt for local fairies, have a delicious snack, and take pictures at a special selfie spot for the event.
Costumes and wings are encouraged, but please make sure they are either mess-friendly or bring a costume change. At the conclusion of the session, participants will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite doors and the top three will receive a fairy-themed gift.
The instructor for the session will be Laura Webb, owner of Faeriefoots of Johnson City. Webb is an eco-artist with a fairy/cottage core aesthetic. Most of her art has been recycled in some form with the purpose of offering endearing and creative solutions to mass disposal.
Her whimsical fairy doors are even created with water recycled from her studio’s air space and are naturally degradable in time. Webb will have some of her creations for sale during the class.
