Kingsport Parks and Recreation is offering an Intermediate Basketball Skills and Drills program in September for children interested in learning the advanced skills of this fast-paced sport.
The four-week intermediate program will be held at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street) on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in September. Open for participants ages 8 to 16.
The Skills & Drills program focuses on more advanced skills of basketball, such as dribbling, shooting and passing. Participants will improve their basketball IQ and strengthen their confidence through engaging speed, footwork and agility drills.
The registration fee is $40 for city residents and $45 for non-city residents. To register, visit https://bit.ly/4xTBKE1. Kingsport Parks and Recreation is offering a special Kids’ Day Out camp next week – September 8 – the same day as a Kingsport City Schools’ in-service day.
This one-day camp will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street).
The cost is $15 per child, and the camp is open for ages 6 to 12. The maximum number of registrants is 50. Participants will need to bring lunch and a snack.
Tuesday’s theme is “Back to School Bash!” with a full day of fun activities, games, crafts, outdoor time and more.
