NEWS RELEASE | |||
SUBJECT: | Detectives Searching for Three People in Connection to Fraudulent Use of Lost or Stolen Debit Card Investigation | ||
DATE: | July 12, 2018 | ||
CASE #: | 18-017439 | ||
GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On June 13, 2018 a Kingsport resident reported her debit card lost or stolen to the Kingsport Police Department. She had discovered it was missing on June 8th and reported it to her financial institution on June 11th, at which time she was informed that there were already 10 unauthorized charges on her account. These fraudulent transactions were conducted at several different businesses in Kingsport to include Target and Michael’s in the Kingsport Pavilion Shopping Center on East Stone Drive, Walmart on West Stone Drive, and Walmart on Fort Henry Drive.
The three people in one of the included photographs were shopping together at Walmart on West Stone Drive when one of them fraudulently used the victim’s card to make a purchase. The trio then left together in the black SUV in the other included photograph. The man in the camouflage coveralls was shopping alone at Walmart on Fort Henry Drive the same day when he used the card again, but on that occasion he was traveling in a mid-sized sedan (no photograph available). The supplied photographs were obtained from Walmart surveillance video footage. Anyone who recognizes any of these three individuals or the black SUV is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: https://www.kingsporttn.gov/city-services/police-department/contact-us |
