KINGSPORT – In the ongoing effort to reduce the problem of driving under the influence and related crashes, the Kingsport Police Department will be conducting a D.U.I. Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 10:00 PM until 2:00 AM.‚ This Checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location in the City of Kingsport.
K.P.D. stresses that Tennessee D.U.I. laws apply not just to alcohol, but to any substance that impairs, including illegal drugs, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, as well as prescription drugs, even if they are prescribed by a physician.
KINGSPORT – Public Art Kingsport invites proposals from artists for exhibitions in the following gallery locations:
Proposals will be considered for exhibition in all galleries.‚ All entries must be two-dimensional.
Exhibitions will run approximately for two months.‚ There is no exhibition theme and all two-dimensional media will be considered.‚ Exhibit locations will depend on space and availability.
All original works should be appropriately finished for display and/or hanging (i.e. matted framed, and equipped with appropriate hanging hardware).‚ Exceptions can be made for youth art.
Individual artist, consortia or artist, and organizations who work and/or live within 100 miles of the Kingsport area are encouraged to apply.
There is NO entry fee.
All proposals (solo exhibition, consortium, or organization) are accepted on a rotating basis.
