SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Attempting to Identify Two Female Felony Shoplifting Suspects

GENERAL NARRATIVE
On April 10, 2015 at approximately 3:30 PM, two white female suspects shoplifted clothing, with a value of over $500, from Belk in the Kingsport Town Center, located at 2101 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. The suspects fled the scene in a red Pontiac 4-door sedan displaying a State of Kentucky issued license plate.

Photos of the suspects and their vehicle are included in this release. Anyone who recognizes them is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:

Kingsport Police to Hold D.U.I. Checkpoint

KINGSPORT – In the ongoing effort to reduce the problem of driving under the influence and related crashes, the Kingsport Police Department will be conducting a D.U.I. Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 10:00 PM until 2:00 AM.‚  This Checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location in the City of Kingsport.

K.P.D. stresses that Tennessee D.U.I. laws apply not just to alcohol, but to any substance that impairs, including illegal drugs, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, as well as prescription drugs, even if they are prescribed by a physician.

Call to Artists: Public Art Kingsport accepting proposals to exhibit work in City Hall Gallery

KINGSPORT – Public Art Kingsport invites proposals from artists for exhibitions in the following gallery locations:

  • City Hall Gallery
  • Atrium Gallery of the Renaissance Arts Center
  • Beverly Gallery of the Renaissance Arts Center

Proposals will be considered for exhibition in all galleries.‚  All entries must be two-dimensional.

Exhibitions will run approximately for two months.‚  There is no exhibition theme and all two-dimensional media will be considered.‚  Exhibit locations will depend on space and availability.

All original works should be appropriately finished for display and/or hanging (i.e. matted framed, and equipped with appropriate hanging hardware).‚  Exceptions can be made for youth art.

Individual artist, consortia or artist, and organizations who work and/or live within 100 miles of the Kingsport area are encouraged to apply.

There is NO entry fee.

All proposals (solo exhibition, consortium, or organization) are accepted on a rotating basis.
