NEWS RELEASE | |||
SUBJECT: | All Suspects in Custody in Attempted Murder Investigation at Local Hotel | ||
DATE: | April 14, 2015 | ||
CASE #: | 15-006493 | ||
GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On April 14, 2015 at approximately 10:45 AM, Johnathan P. Huff and Fianna Marie Cox were arrested in Columbia, South Carolina by the United States Marshals Service. Mr. Huff and Ms. Cox are currently incarcerated in Columbia, SC awaiting extradition back to Tennessee. The Kingsport Police Department would like to thank the United States Marshals Service for their assistance in bringing these two fugitives to justice.
As previously released: An additional suspect has been implicated in the ongoing investigation into an attempted murder and aggravated assault that occurred on April 2, 2015 at a local hotel. On April 6, 2015, K.P.D. released the identities of two black male suspects who have been charged in that incident. Michael W. Williams, Jr. is already in custody; however, Jonathan P. Huff remains at large. During the search for Mr. Huff, now a wanted fugitive, detectives learned that his girlfriend, Fianna Marie Cox (a.k.a. Fianna Grammer), had been in ongoing communication with him via phone and in person. They also learned that she had arranged to obtain and deliver money to Mr. Huff for the express purpose of him fleeing the area. Detectives have obtained a warrant, charging Ms. Cox with being an Accessory After the Fact, which is a Class E Felony. Anyone who knows where Ms. Cox or Mr. Huff can be located is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: http://police.KingsportTN.gov/Citizen_Feedback As previously released: On April 2, 2015 at approximately 7:15 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a disturbance at the Americourt Hotel, located at 1900 American Way in Kingsport. Responding Officers located a 41 year old white male victim (name will not be released) lying face down on a walkway with a large amount of blood under his head. Sullivan County E.M.S. immediately responded and transported the victim to an area medical facility for treatment of severe head trauma. He remains hospitalized in critical condition. Detectives from the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division responded, and the ensuing investigation revealed the following: Two black male suspects, later identified as Michael W. Williams, Jr. and Jonathan P. Huff, arrived at this location and demanded money from a 23 year old white female (name will not be released) who was staying in a room on the second story of the hotel. When the female was unable to produce the money, the suspects grabbed her and attempted to throw her over the balcony. At this point, the aforementioned white male intervened in defense of the female. Mr. Williams and Mr. Huff turned on him, attacked him, and knocked him to the ground unconscious. The suspects then kicked the white male in the head repeatedly while he was lying defenseless on the ground. Detectives have since obtained warrants charging Mr. Williams and Mr. Huff with Attempted Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault. On April 3, 2015 at approximately 4:00 PM, Mr. Williams was arrested on Dorothy Street and transported to the Kingsport City Jail where he remains incarcerated awaiting arraignment. Mr. Huff is still at large. Anyone who knows where Mr. Huff can be located is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: |
