KINGSPORT – The relocation of a fire hydrant will impact water service on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in Washington County, including customers from 106 to 254 Fordtown Road as well as customers from 105 to 132 Crawford Lane. Patrons in these areas should expect service disruptions or water outages from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, and should take precautions such as turning off their water heaters to avoid the potential for damage to their water systems during an outage.
KINGSPORT – As fall weather begins, City of Kingsport Public Works crews work endlessly helping to collect the tons of leaves that fall thoughout our city. the city has seven trucks that run on a six route schedule. The amount of leaves collected daily determines how many days it takes to complete the routes. It may take from six to fifteen working days to cover the city.
Leaves need to be placed at the edge of the street but not in the street. Keep all the leaf piles clean. This will help speed collection times. Please do not put trash or limbs in your leaf piles. If you bag your leaves put them with your yard waste and they will be picked up on your regular scheduled day.
The leaf collection schedule can be found on Public Works Schedule of the website. The leaf collection schedule is updated daily. Check back here for changes, or call 224-2429 to find out what areas we will be working on that day and the next.
