General Narrative |
Twin brothers have been arrested for felony theft after being caught in the act of stealing a Pepsi Machine at a local apartment complex.
On August 9, 2013 at approximately 5:00 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officer Matt Stewart responded to Allen Creek Apartment, located at 403 Allen Drive, to investigate a reported theft in progress. Upon his arrival, Officer Stewart observed a green Ford Mustang pulling a utility trailer. On the utility trailer was a Pepsi vending machine. The Mustang was occupied by two individuals, later identified as twin brothers, Ryan and Bryan Kiser. When the Kiser twins saw Officer Stewart arrive at the scene, they fled on foot from the Mustang into one of the apartments. Officer Stewart was able to quickly apprehend both suspects. The Pepsi machine, with a value of approximately $3,000, had been placed at Allen Creek Apartments for use by the residents and visitors of the complex. Approximately 10 metal storm drain covers were located inside the Mustang. Further investigation revealed that the storm drain covers were stolen during the night from Rose Garden Circle in the Windridge Estates neighborhood. The storm drain covers have a total value of approximately $1,500 and are the property of the City of Kingsport. Ryan and Bryan Kiser were arrested and charged with 2 Counts of Theft of Property over $1,000 and Evading Arrest. For additional information, please contact: Ptl. Thomas M. Patton K.P.D.
