GENERAL NARRATIVE |
Thanks to significantly larger than predicted snowfall accumulations during the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 24, 2015, area roadways are once again blanketed with snow, making travel conditions hazardous. The current forecast is for snowfall to continue through this morning and taper off this afternoon.
Kingsport City Schools are closed today which greatly reduces the number of vehicles traveling on city streets. Other motorists who do not have an urgent need to be out and about are strongly encouraged to exercise patience and sound judgment and stay home until this latest weather front passes through the region. City of Kingsport Public Works employees are hard at work to ensure that Kingsport’s streets are cleared and safe for travel. As usual, snow removal crews will begin on major thoroughfares and gradually work their way out to secondary roadways and neighborhood streets. |
