GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On December 8, 2016 at approximately 12:00 Noon, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Gravely Road in reference to a motor vehicle collision. Their resultant investigation revealed the following:
A blue 1991 Ford F-150, operated by an initially unidentified driver, was eastbound on Gravely Road when the driver failed to properly negotiate a curve. The driver lost control of the pickup, allowing it to leave the right side of the roadway. The pickup traveled across a yard, up an embankment, went airborne, and crashed into a house. The house was shifted on its foundation and sustained extensive structural damage. The resident was home at the time of the crash, but while visibly shaken, was fortunately able to escape injury. Multiple witnesses reported observing the driver exit and abandon the pickup and flee on foot along Gravely Road. He was soon picked up by another individual, believed to possibly be his brother, driving a red Dodge Dakota pickup. He is believed to have possibly sustained injuries to both his face and his arm. During the course of the investigation, officers were quickly able to positively identify the driver in the crash as Harold G. White, Jr. Despite a visit to his residence and interaction with several of Mr. White’s friends and relatives both in person and via telephone, they were unable to immediately locate him. A warrant was obtained charging Mr. White with: 1) Driving on a Revoked License 2) Failure to Comply with Financial Responsibility Law (No Insurance) 3) Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle 4) Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Collision 5) Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Property Damage Mr. White is currently wanted and still at large. He is described as a heavy-set 45 year old adult white male. He has brown hair and brown eyes, stands approximately 6 feet 1 inch in height, and weighs roughly 295 pounds. Photographs of Mr. White are included in this release. Anyone who knows his current whereabouts is asked to contact Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
