Three Kingsport Police Officers Honored at Annual G.H.S.O. Awards Banquet
KINGSPORT – On December 8, 2015 three Kingsport Police Officers were honored at the annual East Tennessee Governors Highway Safety Office (G.H.S.O.) awards banquet for going the extra mile in their traffic safety oriented law enforcement efforts. The banquet was held in Greeneville, TN. Sergeant Steve Summey, one of the supervisors of the K.P.D. Strategic Operations Unit, received the G.H.S.O. East Tennessee Officer of the Year award for his special emphasis on traffic safety and enforcement. Officer Dustin Jackson, one of the departments Crash Reconstruction Investigators assigned to the K.P.D. Traffic Unit, also received the G.H.S.O. East Tennessee Officer of the Year award for his special emphasis on traffic safety and enforcement. Officer Jesse Griggs, who is assigned to the K.P.D. Patrol Division, received the G.H.S.O. East Tennessee D.U.I. Enforcement Award for his dedication to enforcing the laws against Driving Under the Influence. The Kingsport Police Department would like to thank these officers for their tireless efforts toward keeping the streets of Kingsport safe, and congratulate them on a job well done. |
