On July 28, 2013 at approximately 7:50 PM a previously unknown white male suspect committed an armed robbery at Berry’s Pharmacy located at 1717 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport.
The suspect entered the pharmacy and pointed a large framed blue/black semi-automatic pistol at the employees and demanded pills. The employees gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of prescription medication, and the suspect left the scene. Through further investigation, the Kingsport Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division developed Eric David McPhillips as a suspect in the robbery. A warrant was obtained charging Mr. McPhillips with Aggravated Robbery. On the afternoon of July 30, 2013, information was received that Mr. McPhillips was at the Budget Inn, located at 1708 East Stone Drive, in room number 247. Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to the scene. Officers Billy Boyd, Mark Johnson, and Jared Adams, assisted by K-9 Macho entered the room and took Mr. McPhillips into custody without incident. For additional information, please contact: Ptl.
