GENERAL NARRATIVE |
Kingsport Police Detectives are attempting to identify two female suspects involved in a bizarre stolen debit card scheme.
On June 7, 2015 a white female suspect stole a debit card from the wallet of a male victim while visiting his home in Kingsport. The victim described the woman as an acquaintance; however, he allegedly did not know her name. The suspect and a white female accomplice then fraudulently used the stolen card to make a purchase at a Kingsport Wal-Mart, followed by two failed attempted transactions at an area Walgreens and an Eastman Credit Union Automated Teller Machine. On June 10, 2015 the female suspect returned to the victim’s home, this time as a burglar rather than as a guest. During the burglary, she allegedly crawled in a window and returned the stolen debit card; however, she stole a completely different debit card. The woman and her accomplice then used the new card to make fraudulent purchases at Kingsport locations of Walgreens and Wal-Mart, and another transaction at an area Shell gas station. The suspects were captured on surveillance video at both Wal-Mart and Walgreens during two of the transactions. Several photos of the women taken from this footage have been included in this release. Two clips of the footage have been made available for viewing on the K.P.D.
