| SUBJECT: | Tractor Trailer Rollover to Temporarily Close Exit Ramp from Westbound I-26 to Rock Springs Road | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE |
| On July 24, 2014, at approximately 7:40 am, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers were called to westbound Interstate 26 at the Rock Springs Road exit to investigate a single motor vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer that was hauling wood chips.
The truck was westbound, lost control, ran off the right side of the roadway, and overturned. The driver sustained minor injuries, and the load was spilled onto the roadside. The exit ramp to Rock Springs Road will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time pending cleanup and the truck and trailer being removed via wrecker. TDOT is in the process of setting up a detour to the nearby Wilcox Drive exit, to northbound Highway 93/John B. Dennis Highway, to eastbound Moreland Drive, back to Rock Springs Road. Motorists are advised to use caution and follow the detour route, or avoid the area all together if at all possible. This incident should only result in minor delays. |
