REMINDER: Only one week remains to apply for the position of School Crossing Guard. The deadline to apply is Sunday, December 18, 2016.
As previously released: The City of Kingsport is currently accepting applications for the position of School Crossing Guard. School Crossing Guards are part-time employees and serve as a division of the Kingsport Police Department. There are presently five (5) openings for this position. The starting salary for a School Crossing Guard is $11.05 per hour. Crossing Guards work two hours (one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon) each day school is in session. Each School Crossing Guard is assigned to a different crosswalk area at one of the many schools throughout the City of Kingsport. Their primary duties are to direct traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular, through designated school crossing zones, and escort children across the street.
