GENERAL NARRATIVE |
On June 17, 2014 at approximately 2:45 PM, Officers of the Kingsport Police Department’s Directed Patrol Unit, working in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service, arrested Sylvon William Hemingway, charging him with being a Fugitive from Justice. Mr. Hemingway was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Baltimore, Maryland for Attempted First Degree Murder and various other charges.
The U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force, located in Baltimore, notified the U.S.M.S. Greenville, TN Field Office that they had reason to believe Mr. Hemingway was frequenting Model City Apartments, located at 1000 Stonegate Road in Kingsport. Deputy U.S. Marshal Mark Ball responded by coordinating a local surveillance effort with K.P.D. Kingsport Officers spotted Mr. Hemingway leaving the parking lot as a passenger in a blue Nissan Versa and conducted a traffic stop at the nearby intersection of Riverside Avenue and Mimosa Drive. Mr. Hemingway was taken into custody without incident and has been confined in the Kingsport City Jail pending extradition. |
