GENERAL NARRATIVE |
On December 31, 2014 at approximately 2:00 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at Zoomers, located at 1673 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. The responding officers soon learned that a white male suspect handed the clerk a handwritten note demanding cash from the register. When the clerk questioned if he was serious, the suspect produced a handgun and threatened to shoot her if she did not comply. The clerk then gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, and he fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Detectives from the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene. During the ensuing investigation, Jason T. McBee was developed as the suspect in question. At approximately 6:30 AM, officers located the Monte Carlo parked in front of a residence located at 1535 Nall Street. Mr. McBee was found inside the residence and was promptly arrested for the offense of Aggravated Robbery. He was transported to the Kingsport City Jail where he currently resides awaiting arraignment. |
