GENERAL NARRATIVE |
On November 13, 2014 at approximately 9:00 PM, an employee of Food City, located at 300 Clinchfield Street in Kingsport, left her cellular telephone lying next to the cash register in the check-out lane where she was working while she took a break. While she was away, a Hispanic male spotted her phone, placed it in his pocket, and left the store. The suspect left the scene in what appeared to be a beige Chevrolet Suburban full-size sport utility vehicle.
The stolen cellular telephone is an iPhone 5s, white in color, and has a value of approximately $600. At the time of the theft it was housed in a pink and purple cover/case. Photos of the suspect captured on surveillance video are included in this release. The suspect is the individual wearing a pink shirt with white lettering. At the time of the theft, the suspect was accompanied by a second Hispanic male who is pictured in the accompanying photos wearing a darker colored shirt. The second Hispanic male is not a suspect; however, as he was with the suspect at the time of the theft, learning his identity could also help detectives identify the actual suspect. Anyone who recognizes either of these two individuals is asked to contact detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: |
