| SUBJECT: | Downtown Road Race this Friday Evening Likely to Cause Traffic Congestion/Delays | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE |
| On Friday evening, September 12, 2014 from approximately 7:30 PM until approximately 10:00 PM, motorists should expect traffic congestion and delays in the Downtown Kingsport area due to the Smoke and Fire 5K road race. The race route will encompass Center Street, Main Street, Market Street, East Sullivan Street, Clinchfield Street, Clay Street, and Unicoi Street.
Citizens are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternate route unless they are planning on attending the event. Motorists who do choose to drive through the downtown area are encouraged to obey traffic instructions, follow detours, exercise caution, patience, and courtesy and keep an eye out for runners and other pedestrians.
