GENERAL NARRATIVE |
On October 5, 2014 at approximately 5:30 PM, an unidentified suspect made a fraudulent debit card transaction of $206.05 at Dollar General Store, located at 1649 East Stone Drive in Kingsport. The item purchased was a Visa gift card for the same amount. At the time of the offense, the owner of the bank account on which the debit card was issued had his debit card in his possession, so the suspect had somehow been able to obtain a counterfeit clone of his card.
A photo of the suspect captured on surveillance video is included in this release. He is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet, 3 inches in height, with a thin build, and short black hair. K.P.D. Detectives are asking for anyone who may know his identity to contact them in the Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: |
