GENERAL NARRATIVE |
On July 22, 2014 at approximately 11:00 AM a driver parked a delivery van outside of the Roadrunner Market located at 120 West Stone Drive in Kingsport. When the driver returned to the van after making his delivery, he noticed that someone had rummaged through the interior. A small amount of money and a computer printer had been stolen.
Witnesses and surveillance video confirmed that as the driver left the van, a silver 4-door sedan with a glass moon roof pulled alongside it. The sedan was occupied by a white female driver and a white male passenger. The passenger got out of the sedan and entered the delivery van. The suspects then fled the scene in the sedan. The trunk lid of the sedan was slightly ajar due to several large items inside the trunk preventing it from fully closing. Based on their investigation, detectives believe the trunk contained additional stolen property taken in a separate unrelated incident at another location in Kingsport. A photo of the suspect vehicle is included in this release. A clip from the surveillance video has been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the link below: Anyone who recognizes this sedan and knows who was operating it on the day of this incident is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. |
