Kingsport City Schools to host Early Literacy and School Readiness Training Event
KINGSPORT ‚¬ The Kingsport City Schools (KCS) Early Childhood Programs will host a training event on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 12:30 ‚¬ 2:30 p.m. located in the Tennessee Room at the KCS Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, third floor, downtown Kingsport.
The training event will focus on key school readiness practices in early literacy; family, community and school. The event will occur during the National Association for the Education of Young Childrens (NAEYC) Week of the Young Child Celebration that takes April 6‚¬12. KCS is partnering with the Appalachian Association for the Education of Young Children (AAEYC) the local affiliate of NAEYC, Sullivan County Imagination Library and the local TN-Child Care Resource and Referral Network to provide this training.
This is a free training event for childcare providers, directors/assistant directors, principals/assistant principals, preschool/kindergarten teachers, teaching assistants, and open to the public. Participants will receive two (2) hours of training credit.
