Kingsport City Schools Proposed Textbooks Announced
KINGSPORT – Before making a recommendation to the Kingsport Board of Education for adoption, Kingsport City Schools textbook selecting committee for K-12 mathematics is considering the following Tennessee State Board of Education approved textbook publishers:
Grades K-2 Mathematics
Curriculum Associates, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Math Learning Center, Scott Foresman, Eureka Math
Grades 3-5 Mathematics
Curriculum Associates, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Math Learning Center, Eureka Math
Grades 6-8 Mathematics
Curriculum Associates, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Eureka Math, Agile Minds, Triumph, Big Ideas, Carnegie, College Board, McGraw Hill,
Grades 9-12 Mathematics
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Eureka Math, Agile Minds, Big Ideas, Carnegie, College Board, McGraw Hill, Pearson, Cengage, Bedford Freeman & Worth
The recommended textbooks will be on display for public viewing and comment on March 20 and March 23, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and on March 24 from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. located at Kingsport City Schools Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, Ste. 200, 3rd Floor – Tennessee Room, downtown, Kingsport.
Final textbook recommendations will be made to the Kingsport Board of Education on April 9. The local school board has the responsibility to decide by vote which textbooks to use in the district. The final adoption of school system textbooks is due to the Tenn. Department of Education by April 15.
