Cooks Valley area road improvements to require segment closures through December

KINGSPORT ‚¬ Cooks Valley area road improvements will require closure of segments of Cooks Valley Road and Harbor Springs Road from the intersection of Cooks Valley and Harbor Chapel Road to the intersection of Cooks Valley and Harbor Springs Road. A map of the impacted area is attached.

This project, funded by the City, includes the construction of about .3 mile of widened road with improvements to elevation and curve alignments, in addition to installation of storm water collection facilities.

The project contractor, Vic Davis Construction, is set to begin work on Monday, August 4, 2014 with work expected to continue through the middle of December 2014. In addition to intermittent road closures, residents in the impacted area can also expect water service disruptions at times during the construction period.

As always, motorists are asked to plan ahead, seek alternative routes where possible, and use the utmost caution in the work zone. Detour routes will be marked to guide those traveling through the work zone.
