Asphalt preservation project begins next week

Pavement Management Technology of Cleveland, Ohio plans to perform an asphalt preservation project in the Eastern Star area of Kingsport and then move onto the asphalt roadways in the Upper Sevier Terrace neighborhood.

Weather permitting, the work will begin on April 24 with an estimated completion date of May 17.

In Upper Sevier Terrace, the asphalt preservation will take place on neighborhood streets including Fairview Avenue between West Stone Drive and Allen Drive.

The contractor will be distributing door knockers the day before selected streets receive this maintenance effort. Motorists should use caution in these areas and seek alternate routes if possible, during this time.
