AEP to replace lights on Center Street

KINGSPORT – Appalachian Electric Power (AEP) will begin work tomorrow on what is anticipated to be an 8 to 12 week process to replace the existing street lights on Center Street between Clinchfield Street and Sullivan Street. ‚ The street lights along this section of Center Street have surpassed their useful life and as a result will be replaced with a similar style pole and fixture.‚  This is a process that is managed annually throughout the City of Kingsport by AEP in partnership with the Kingsport Traffic Engineering Department.

Construction crews intend to work both a day and evening shift in order to minimize impact.‚  However, during construction motorists should anticipate slight delays and pedestrians should be mindful of temporary sidewalk closures.
