Kingsport Police have arrested an individual for vandalizing a downtown church.
On Sunday, October 27, 2013 at approximately 7:00 PM, K.P.D. Patrol Officers were dispatched to First Broad Street United Methodist Church at the Woodyard Center, located at 100 East Church Circle in Kingsport. The individual who called Kingsport Central Dispatch reported that they heard glass breaking and saw an individual acting suspicious loitering around the perimeter of the church. Officer Andy Goddard located Randall Eugene Robbins outside the church, sitting on the stairs, in front of a shattered window. Robbins matched the suspect description given to Central Dispatch. Two additional windows had also been broken in the same manner. The subsequent investigation determined than for an unknown reason, Mr. Robbins had thrown bricks through the three window. Mr. Robbins was arrested for Felony Vandalism Over $500 and transported to the Kingsport City Jail. The destruction of the three windows is estimated to cost nearly $1,000 to repair.
