Multiple auto burglaries have been reported at the Kingsport YMCA and Aquatics Center prompting K.P.D. to remind citizens to keep valuables out of sight and keep vehicle doors locked.
On December 8, 2013 at approximately 1:30 PM, three vehicles were burglarized while parked and unattended in the parking lot of the Kingsport YMCA and Aquatics Center, located at 1840 Meadowview Parkway in Kingsport. In all three instances, a woman’s purse was in plain view in the back seat and a window was smashed out by the suspect(s) to gain access. K.P.D. Detectives are looking for a gold Cadillac with tinted windows and Blount County tags as a possible suspect vehicle in the case. Auto burglaries are one of the more common crimes reported to the Kingsport Police Department, and in the vast majority of occurrences, either there was a valuable item left in the vehicle in plain sight or the vehicle’s doors had been left unlocked. Incidents such as these should serve as a reminder to keep valuables out of sight and keep vehicle doors locked. Anyone who may have any information regarding these incidents or the described suspect vehicle is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. For additional information, please contact: P.I.O. Thomas M. Patton K.P.D.
