KPD e-News Release: Upcoming KCop 8K Christmas Lights Run to Result in Temporary Road Closures and Delays

The Kingsport Coalition of Police (KCop) will be holding its annual 8K Christmas Lights Run this coming Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 6:30 PM. All proceeds will go to the KCop “Shop with a Cop” program to buy Christmas gifts for less fortunate children.
The race will begin at Indian Highland Park, located at 1814 East Center Street, and will be run throughout the Highland, Fair Acres, and Tellico Hills neighborhoods. Area motorists not planning on participating in this event should plan ahead and seek an alternate route to avoid congestion and delays. Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the race area are asked to exercise courtesy and patience, follow all detours, obey all traffic instructions, and keep a cautious eye out for pedestrians, cyclists, and slow moving vehicles. Pre-registration is available online in advance or at Indian Highland Park at 4:30 PM on the day of the event.
