| GENERAL NARRATIVE |
| On December 9, 2014 at approximately 1:00 PM, Mark Allen Garrett was arrested for the offenses of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Especially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He is presently incarcerated in the Kingsport City Jail pending arraignment.
This arrest came as a result of an investigation that originated on December 5, 2014 by the Kingsport Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division after detectives were alerted to a video, inadvertently found on a computer flash drive, showing Garrett engaged in sexual activity with a male child under the age of three. This investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the offenses and the minor age of the victim, no further information will be released at this time. |
