KPD e-News Release: Kingsport Police Seeking Information in Barber Shop Burglary

Kingsport Police Detectives are seeking information from the public in reference to an investigation into a burglary to a local barber shop. On the morning of November 5, 2014, K.P.D. Patrol Officers were dispatched to the scene of a burglary to Nick’s Barber Shop, located at 1032 East Center Street in Kingsport. The owner, Nick Lawson, has operated his barber shop continuously at this location for 54 years.
The incident occurred sometime between close of business (5:00 PM) on Monday, November 3, 2014 and opening of business (7:45 AM) on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. The barber shop was closed on Tuesday. Pry marks were found on the front door which is believed to be the point of entry. Inside the shop, two drawers and a Coke machine were forcibly opened. The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and coin. Detectives are asking for anyone who may have any information which may help them solve this case to contact them in the K.P.D.
