KPD e-News Release: Kingsport Police Respond to Major East Stone Drive Motor Vehicle Collision (1st UPDATE)
GENERAL NARRATIVE |
1st UPDATE: On August 27, 2014 as of approximately 5:45 PM, all emergency vehicles have cleared the scene and traffic to all travel lanes has been restored. This crash is still under investigation with additional details to be released as they become available.
AS PREVIOUSLY RELEASED: On August 27, 2014 at approximately 1:45 PM, Kingsport Central Dispatch was notified of a major motor vehicle collision in the vicinity of the Kingsport Pavilion/Target Shopping Center, located at 2626 East Stone Drive in Kingsport. Kingsport Police and other area first responders rushed to the scene. Based on early feedback from personnel on scene, this crash is believed to have involved multiple vehicles and resulted in multiple injuries. Most, if not all, travel lanes at this location are currently blocked resulting in heavy traffic congestion. Area motorists are urged to avoid this area and seek alternate routes for the time being. Additional information regarding the condition of traffic and the details of the crash will be released as they become available. |
