As previously released:
Kingsport Police are searching for Joshua M. Henry, who is currently wanted on outstanding warrants for two counts of Aggravated Robbery in connection with back-to-back robberies of two area convenience stores.
On August 9, 2015 at approximately 1:00 AM, Mr. Henry entered the Valero, located at 817 Lynn Garden Drive. Brandishing a steak knife, he ordered the clerk to open the cash register. When she refused, he fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet Cavalier, heading south on Lynn Garden Drive.
Five minutes later, Mr. Henry entered the Roadrunner Market, located at 1600 West Stone Drive. Again brandishing the aforementioned steak knife, he demanded cash from the clerk. This time, the clerk complied with his instructions. He exited the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and attempted to flee in the same silver Chevrolet Cavalier. When his car would not start, he fled on foot, running east on West Stone Drive.
K.P.D. K-9 Axyl tracked Mr. Henry to a nearby location where he had apparently run out of his flip-flops; however, he was successfully able to elude capture that night. During the ensuing investigation, officers soon learned that the abandoned getaway vehicle was actually registered to Mr. Henry. A search of the vehicle also turned up his driver license complete with his photograph.
Detectives have since positively identified Mr. Henry as the suspect in both robberies and obtained warrants charging him with two counts of Aggravated Robbery. He is a 25 year old white male with short brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has a slim build and a goatee.
Two photos of Mr. Henry are included in this release. One is a previous mugshot, while the other was taken from surveillance video at the scene of one of the robberies. Anyone who knows his whereabouts or may have any information to assist in his apprehension is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
