KCS to Host Textbook Community Awareness Session

KINGSPORT – Kingsport City Schools will host a community awareness session to showcase Mathematics textbooks being recommended for adoption by the 2010-2011 Mathematics Textbook Review Committee.

The community awareness session will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education.‚  Parents may drop in at any time during the session.  Textbook review committee representatives will be available to answer questions concerning the recommended materials.

Additionally, recommended textbooks will be on display for public review from March 7-18, 2011. These textbooks can be viewed at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education during the following times:

Textbook recommendations were approved on first reading by the Kingsport City Schools Board of Education on March 3, 2011.  Final textbook recommendations will be approved by the Board of Education at the April board meeting.
