Dobyns-Bennett Names Head Baseball Coach
KINGSPORT – Dobyns-Bennett High School is pleased to announce the selection of Ryan Wagner as Head Baseball Coach, effective July 1, 2010.
Wagner has served as a special education teacher for eleven year, ten of which have been at Dobyns-Bennett High School. He is a Dobyns-Bennett High School graduate, holds a Bachelors degree in special education from East Tennessee State University and a Masters degree in Elementary Education from Tusculum College. He has previously served as an assistant baseball and bartball coach at Dobyns-Bennett High School.
I would like to thank the administration for the opportunity to become the head baseball coach at Dobyns Bennett High School, said Wagner. I am very excited to begin the challenge of continuing such a tradition of developing great men of character, while developing skills which will result in a winning program. I want the community to know that as a program we will place a high emphasis on being great students and athletes. I realize it will take a great deal of work on the part of our coaching staff and players to continue such a winning tradition. I look forward to working with the parents and the community, which have always been so supportive of our athletic programs.
Wagner will replace long-time Dobyns-Bennett Baseball Coach Mike Ritz, who retired in 2010.
